On 7 November, Shenzhen Public Security Bureau successfully held the 7th Beijing-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Police Tennis Invitational Match themed “health, harmony, and friendship” at Longgang Sports Center. Bai Tian, Deputy Municipal CPC Secretary and Secretary of Shenzhen Political and Judiciary Committee, participated in the opening ceremony and watched the match; Shenzhen Vice Mayor and Public Security Director Li Ming delivered a welcome speech, and took part in the match; the police in Beijing, Hong Kong and Shenzhen took part in the match respectively under the lead of Deputy Director Liu Shaowu of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, Vice Honorary Chairman Lee Ming Kwai of Hong Kong Police Tennis Club, and Shenzhen Public Security Deputy Director Qian Wei. Upon one-day competition, the mission of Shenzhen Public Security Bureau won the championships for team event, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles; Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau won the championship for the leader group; and, the mission of Hong Kong Police Force won the third prize for both the team event and leader group. That night, Shenzhen Public Security Bureau held a solemn medal-awarding ceremony and celebration, at which the Police Art Group of Shenzhen Public Security Bureau presented wonderful art performances.
The tennis invitational match was initiated by the Deputy Director Tian Qiyu of the Ministry of Public Security at that time in 2002, and had been successfully held for six sessions, which becomes an important platform for enhancing communication and friendship among police in the three places. In recent years, the cooperation in policing in the three places has been further strengthened, and satisfactory results have been achieved in jointly exploring new team building mechanism, cracking down crimes, and maintaining regional social stability and economic development.
